About Me.I grew up in the linguistically diverse area of South Florida with a father who is a non-native speaker of English. For these reasons, I became interested in language at a young age. So much so that I took every foreign language offered at my high school (French, Spanish, Mandarin, & ASL). I earned my B.A. at Florida Atlantic University in English Education and decided to pursue an M.A. in Linguistics shortly thereafter. During my masters, I developed a passion for conducting research, which led to my decision to pursue my PhD. I moved to Boston, MA in the fall of 2018 and have been enjoying New England ever since! Throughout my doctorate program I have worked on multiple research projects, presented at many conferences, and attended two summer schools. In Summer 2022, I worked at Duolingo as a Learning Scientist Intern and accepted a full-time offer with the company. I am excited to be wrapping up my PhD and am looking forward to moving to Pittsburgh, PA in August!
